Operating Models

The figure below reflects the many aspects of a neighbourhood battery operating model. The model involves ownership and governance, of components such as the battery itself, land, control systems, and connection with the grid. These components dictate but are also influenced by battery size and specifications, software systems, and budget. Operating models may also involve market participation and participation by customers and community members. They are intimately tied to your business model and are constrained by the balance of costs and revenues, including funding.

The Battery Storage and Grid Integration Program acknowledges, celebrates and pays our respects to the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people of the Canberra region and to all First Nations Australians on whose traditional lands we meet, work, and whose cultures are among the oldest continuing cultures in human history.
